As part of our Church-as-Tribe Weekend, no worship meeting this weekend but we're still meeting for 'church'! This is a special time to grow in faith & community.
FRI 7:00pm - Join the West & 4 Points Tribes for a “Roll-Your-Own-Sushi” Party. It’s “craft-project-meets-dinner-party”! Over the last 2 years, Mission Hills has befriended a very special group of Burmese immigrants. All fled due to conflict and persecution. Now, calling Austin home, many are employed in the service industry. This is our chance to love our Austin neighbors and have them share a skill, making sushi, with us. Bring a favorite Japanese beer, wine or sake to share. Find a ‘sitter and meet up with new and familiar faces. RSVP with Shannon Wise.
SUN 1:30pm - Join the South Tribe as we celebrate a very special Burmese family who welcome an American-born son, Benjamin. Mom was an ESL student all year in Ms.Jess’ class. We’re planning a little lunch, prayer of thanks, and shower them with a few baby gifts. Contact Jess for more details on food. Bring a shower gift to celebrate (Onesies, diapers, bottles, wipes, etc)
SUN - Up for random acts of kindness??? Join the conspiracy as North Tribe finds fun & spontaneous ways to ‘sneak up on people’ with compassion and generosity. Contact Kathy for details.
Mission Hills’ Tribes exist to build community and express faith in both fun and tangible ways together. Minimally, we gather the first weekend of each month (in lieu of worship) as a “Laboratory” weekend to practice Rhythms of community, hospitality, compassion, &/or generosity.
